Accommodation in New Zealand

When you start to do business abroad, it is inevitable that a lot of your time and money will be spent having face to face meetings with new suppliers and potential clients. Clients will often want to meet their new supplier, especially if there is no company history locally.

The right choice of hotel when doing business abroad

If you are travelling abroad for business meetings then the right choice of hotel is important, not just for the cost reasons.

Choose a hotel, or series of hotels that enable you to easily get to and from planned meeting, and chose a hotel that will make it easy to have a good night sleep. Travel can be tiring and if you are busy during the day, you need to make sure that you are well rested before another busy day of meeting. Choosing the cheapest hotel on the market may be a false economy if it takes too long (and costs too much money) to travel to your meeting, and damaging if the hotel is so cheap and cheerful that you can’t sleep.

International budget hotels

Budget hotels can offer value for money as long as they are near your meetings and there are at least a few decent restaurants nearby. You may find that you are as busy entertaining new clients as you are meeting them during the day.

International Hotel chains

Hotel chains are often a safe bet. You will be able to judge standards and facilities ( business services) fairly easily and that added advantage of recognised hotel chains that cater for the corporate traveller is that you will be able, confidently, to host some of your meeting “on home ground” so to speak. International business is often conducted in dedicated business areas in some larger hotels.

Short term apartment rental overseas

If you need or plan to stay longer in the country, then renting an apartment might suit you better. Fully furnished and serviced apartments are available in almost every town and city in the world, and the right serviced apartment agent will be able to provide you with a choice at the right budget, and in the right location. Apartments can be rented overnight, for a few days, or for months on end.
