Pets travelling to Bahrain will need an import permit and certification issued by a competent veterinary authority. However, quarantine will not be required under the PETS scheme. Check with the airlines for their different policies.
What is the PETS scheme?
The PETS scheme (Pet Travel Scheme) is an agreement which was made by several EU countries to allow the movement of pets between these countries free of quarantine regulations. Since its introduction, other non-EU countries which are free from the rabies virus have subscribed to the PETS scheme.
