Banking

Banking in India has changed considerably in the past decade. Just about every international bank has a presence now in India. As in the UK, you can choose a different account for different purposes, but the most common forms are the UK-equivalent of current and savings accounts. Cash machines are available throughout the country.

To open a bank account in India, you will be required to provide the following documentation:

  • Valid Passport
  • Valid Visa
  • Employer's Certificate or approval from the Reserve Bank of India if self-employed
