Turkey Emigration
Foreigners who wish to stay in Turkey for more than three months are required to apply for a Residence Permit by filling out a Declaration of Intent form.
The best way to go about this is to move to Turkey on a three month tourism visa and immediately attend the foreign nationals section of the local police headquarters. You will need to complete an application form and submit the following documentation:
- A letter of application
- Six passport photos
- A passport
You will then need to apply for a work permit to be able to work in Turkey. Without a visa and residence permit, a work permit will not be valid. The Labour and Social Security Ministry reviews the work permit applications.
Persons who intend to work in Turkey are required to obtain permission from the security authorities. This status must also be registered in their residence permits.
Temporary Work Permit
Foreigners are eligible for work permits for a maximum period of one year after their first request. For all subsequent requests, the work permit can be extended for a period of up to three years.
Residence Permit
The maximum length of a residence permit is five years. Those who want to extend this must reapply to the security authorities within fifteen days of the expiration of their residence permits.
