Intellectual Property in Vietnam

Vietnam has the regulations in place to protect IPR. However, enforcement is not strong. You must undertake self-protection measures before importing. If faced with infringement you must work with the relevant inspectorates in various ministries.

The National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NoIP) is the government agency responsible for IPR.

The UKTI team in Vietnam can facilitate your communication with NoIP. You can also enquire on IPR is through the Asean IPR SME Helpdesk.

The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has produced a guide to IP protection in Vietnam.
