Banking in Kuwait

The procedures with opening a bank account involve a lot of paperwork. In order to open up a bank account, it is mandatory to have a residence visa and a NOC (No Objection Certificate) stipulating your salary and the amount that will regularly be paid into your account. Some banks will also ask to see your tenancy agreement to establish your residential address and will also ask to see a copy of your passport.

Most current accounts are not cheque accounts as people are generally suspicious of cheques. However, cheque accounts are available at some banks.
