Electricity
Electricity bills are required to be paid on a monthly basis. A representative from your electricity company will visit every month with a bill. Payment is required to be made to him directly.
Telephone
The billing system is different for international and domestic bills. International calls are billed on a monthly basis, while domestic calls are billed quarterly. The bills for both are printed in Arabic.
From the UK, the international dialling code for Egypt is + (00)20 .
Internet
Egyptian companies have a good internet and e-mail culture. Consequently, it has the one of the fastest growing rates of internet usage in the world. Internet access is available in Cairo, Alexandria, Damietta, Tanta, Sinai, the Red Sea and the Suez Canal regions.
Water
Drinking water in major cities and towns is normally chlorinated. However, it is advisable to only drink bottled water.
