Holland is a leading international financial hub. It's banking system is liberal, with a high number of domestic and foreign banks. The largest Dutch banks have offices world-wide. Banking in Holland is not dissimilar to other countries in Europe. You will find many commercial banks there, and setting up a bank account is very straightforward.
In order to open a bank account, you will need to provide the following documents:
- Form of ID (passport)
- Proof of address (bill, etc)
- And in some cases, residency permit
Cash points are widespread and the use of internet banking has taken off well.
