Duties to consider?
Fiscal stamps - must be obtained for all civil and legal acts.
Registration duties - are collected for the registration of real estate transfers or change of ownership. The rates are:
- 0.65% on mortgage subscription fee
- 1% for leases, real estate transfers
- 2% for judgments with conviction
- 3% for acts containing mortgage commitments
- 5% on movable property sales
- 6,5% for the sale of real estate
- 7.5% for the transfer of goodwill, clientele or real estate

What's the television like?
The main channel is TV Monte-Carlo (TMC). There is also a local station called Monaco Info. Satellite is also available.
And radio?
There are four networks:
- Radio Monte-Carlo (RMC) Info, which is the news and information channel in French
- Radio Monte-Carlo in Italian
- Monte-Carlo Doualiya, which is operated by Radio France Internationale in Arabic
- Riviera Radio, a privately owned network in English.

The main publications are:
- Journal de Monaco, which is the weekly government newspaper in French
- Monaco Hebdo - weekly newspaper in French
- The Monaco Times - English newspaper

- Business hours are very similar to France but do vary. The general works hours are: 08.30/09.00am until 12.00/12.30pm closing for lunch and re-opening around 1.30/2.00pm - 5.00/6.00pm
- Banks are generally open between 8.30m to 12pm and 1.30pm/2pm to 4.30pm weekdays
- Shops generally open from 9.00/10.00am until 12.00pm closing for lunch and re-opening at 2.00pm - 6.00/7.00pm. Some shops may be closed on Mondays but may open Sunday morning
How do I get around?
There is no airport situated in Monaco. The closet airport is the Cite d'Azur airport in Nice, France. There is helicopter link available from the airport to Monaco.
To get around Monaco there are various modes of transport available to you.
- Walking is the most popular mode of transport as the place is so small. Monaco is very hilly so there are seven travelators/lifts available as public transport e.g. between the Place des Moulins and the beaches.
- Buses. There are five bus routes running throughout Monaco. The buses are efficient, clean and fast.
- Water-bus service is also in operation.
- Trains (SNCF), who operate the fast train service (TGV) stops at the Monaco Monte-Carlo station.
- Cars are welcome in the principality. The car parks are clean and safe and the first hour is usually free. On-road parking is pay and display.
- Helicopter/heliports are located throughout Monaco.
How do I get to Monaco?
It takes between 3 and 4 hours to fly to Nice depending on your departure location.
Once you have arrived at Nice there are various ways to get to Monaco. Nice is 22km from Monaco.
- Car - car hire is available from the airport
- Helicopter - you can book a helicopter transfer and it takes 7 minutes
- Bus - there is a bus service available
- Taxis - ranks available at the airport
- Train - there is a train service (SNCF) from Nice to the station in Monaco
