Do I need a visa?
A Visa is required for all people who wish to enter Bahrain. If you are taking up employment in Bahrain, you require a work visa, which is normally valid for one or two years. This also entitles you to reside in the country.
In order to obtain a visa, you require a sponsor, which is normally your employer if you're working.

In Bahrain you can apply to renew your visa at Nationality Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA) at the Ministry of Interior. You can apply for residency through the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
Business visitors should bring a letter of invitation Journalists or representatives of NGOs visiting Bahrain should get a visa before travelling.
Passport validity
Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Bahrain.
What are the requirements to live and work in Bahrain?
To live and work in Bahrain, you are required to have the following:
- Work Visa, also called a 'no objection certificate' (NOC)
- Work Permit: Issued by the Ministry of Labour
- Residency Permit: Issued by the General Department for Nationality
- CPR Card (Identity Card): Issued by the Central Informatics Organisation
- A certificate to show that you are in good general health and free from HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
