Hungary's postal system is adequate, but relatively slow. Services are improving. Airmail takes three days to one week to reach countries within Europe, and up to one week for the United States.
Post office hours are Monday-Friday between 0800 and 1800, and Saturday between 0800 and 1200.

The international dialling codefor Hungary is 00 36.
The telephone system has been contemporised, digitalised and highly automated. There is now a choice of service providers.

There is a high mobile penetration rate and 3G services are being launched.
