Car Rental in Cyprus

The renter must provide a credit card, passport and driving license. You can rent a car for around 15 - 25 Euros a day. These are just guidelines, so do check with the car hire company to clarify the cost and documentation needed.

Speed limits are in kilometres per hour, and are as follows:

  • Highway Max: 100kph/62mph
  • Highway Min: 65kph/40mph
  • Interurban & Rural Roads: 80kph/50mph
  • Populated/Residential areas: 50kph/31mph

Cypriots drive of the left-hand side of the road.

Road signs are in English and Greek. Children under the age of five must not sit in the front passenger seat. Use of mobile phones at any time while driving is prohibited unless a hands-free equipment is used.
