Trade In France UK Ltd. Case Study – ChamPicarde SARL
Trade In France started working with a UK-based mushroom grower in 2011 to help them to understand the market conditions for organic mushrooms in France.
In early 2012, Trade In France secured a trial listing for UK-produced mushrooms in Carrefour Hypermarchés. We arranged the logistics from entry to France, secured a storage and shipping partner and agreed the terms of the contract with Carrefour. We taught their UK-based staff how to take the orders every morning, how to present the pallets and ensured that they adhered to the rules relating to shipping documents and invoicing.
Our client supplied Carrefour for 15 weeks and tested the effectiveness of promotions with a resulting 400% increase in sales over the period. At the end of the trial, the directors decided that French-based production was the best solution and so phase two began.
Trade In France worked with the client to source and select a production facility, agree the terms of the lease and to recruit staff and suppliers for the newly formed French company. ChamPicarde began selling French-based organic mushrooms to Carrefour on the 3rd of January 2013. Since then, Trade In France has added Auchan, ProNatura and recently Monoprix to their client list.
We manage the relationship between the producer and its clients and arrange promotions, transport and new product development. In July of 2013, Trade In France made a presentation to a French finance company and their subsequent investment into the client’s business valued the 8 month old company at nearly €700,000. We are now working on additions to their product range and helping them to diversify into value-added production.Trade In France UK Ltd
