Companies obliged to announce free positions

to the Slovak Labor Office. Since April last year companies are obliged to publish the basic salary of the advertised job position. Starting in January, employers must fulfill more duties in order to execute a proper recruitment.

From 1. of January, all employers in Slovakia are obliged to report each vacancy and its description. This is possible to do via the public administration information system istp.sk, or at the profesia.sk or kariera.sk portals. The fine for non-fulfillment of this obligation is up to 300,-€.

The goal of this new system is to make it easier to identify jobs with a labor shortage. According to this data the state will on quarter year basis evaluate the list of industries with not sufficient labour force which has direct impact on employment of 3rd country citizens.

With the new year there is also a change in the taboo of salary levels. Till end of last year it was possible to forbid talks about the salary. Allprovisions in labour contracts related to this issue are not valid and employees can freely share their salaries since this year.
