import export registration in nigeriaour company is exporting from our Indian manufacturing plant Plate Heat exchangers on a Government contract to Lagos Nigeria by sea freight. we have completed the supply contract legalization and stamp duty and the 5% VAT will be deducted from the contract before the award payment to our bank. The Nigerian Govt. is requesting us to pay an import/export registration fee before we receive the contract payment. we also paid a contract insurance bond that was not written in as part of the F.C.D.A. contract agreement. Our question is; do we have to pay an import/export registration fee as a non-resident supply company to the Nigerian Govt. to import goods into Nigeria? Your advise is kindly appreciated.
