Reindorf Chambers
Reindorf Chambers is a firm consisting of 7 lawyers who have been in practice for periods up to thirty years and over.
Key Services
- Our practice involves advising and representing a wide range of clients mainly in the areas of: Corporate/commercial law
- Banking
- Employment law
- Immigration
- Intellectual property
- Litigation
- Mining and energy and project finance
Much of our work involves negotiating, drafting and reviewing agreements including, but not limited to, joint venture agreements, conveyances, loan agreements and security documentation (including mortgages, guarantees and performance bonds).
With regard to employment law and human resources, we have provided advice and services to various clients including negotiating, drafting and reviewing employment contracts such as collective bargaining agreements. We have represented clients in court and arbitration proceedings involving issues such as termination and redundancies of employees. In that regard, we successfully defended Gold Fields Ghana Limited in litigation instituted by about 600 of its former employees in the High Court (and subsequently in the Court of Appeal) challenging the termination of their appointments. We have also successfully represented clients before the National Labour Commission and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, which also deal with employment and human rights matters respectively.
By way of human resources support, we provide advice to our clients, particularly in respect of the conduct of disciplinary proceedings to ensure that they are compliant with the relevant laws, employment contracts as well as government policies relating to labour, thereby reducing their exposure to litigation.
Among the international organisations and companies to which we have provided legal services are the International Finance Corporation, Gold Fields Limited of South Africa, CDC Group plc (formerly the Commonwealth Development Corporation), the World Bank, Computer Sciences Corporation, Verizon Business Inc, Lonrho and Sight Savers International.
Among our local clients to whom we provide routine legal advice as well as assistance in major transactions are Gold Fields Ghana Limited, Abosso Goldfields Limited, Newmont Ghana Gold Limited, Hotel Investments (Ghana) Limited (owners of Labadi Beach Hotel), Metropolitan Insurance Company Limited, CAL Bank Limited and SOS Ghana.
Reindorf Chambers is a member of the DLA Piper Africa Group.
