1. Business development between Japan and the UK/EU

OBM will help you understand the new market and will provide comprehensive support for your entry strategy. Our first recommendation is a feasibility study including research into the market and any appropriate regulation connected with it. We will also conduct a competitor analysis and research into potentially appropriate alliance partners.

Next, we recommend setting out your strategy and completing a road map of the project.

Contract negotiations follow, as we prepare the necessary alliance partnership and assist in any negotiation necessary to support the contract set-up.

Once these tasks are completed, we can also support ongoing business demands, such as export, import, marketing and sales strategies, as well as management support and a technical analysis of the market.

2. Marketing & Regulation Research

OBM’s market research on your behalf includes the current market size, its recent history, its likely potential, possible barriers to progress, demographics, competitor analysis, plus recommendations for the distributors and agents we believe could offer you the best long-term support.

3. HR Support (currently only in the UK)

Our service covers the entire HR function, starting with recruitment, selection and psychometric profiling. We can carry out reference and background checks, prepare terms and conditions of employment and employee handbooks, as well as co-ordinate appraisals, incentive schemes and performance management.

As well as setting up brand new HR functions, our experts are ideally placed to review your existing arrangements and to recommend where improvements and savings can be made. We can support appraisal scheme reviews, contract reviews and planned restructuring programmes.

4. Global business skills and Cross cultural training / coaching

At OBM, our strength and experience comes from our in-depth understanding both of the Japanese way of doing things and of European styles. Extensive experience across Europe and Japan underpins our sound understanding of business theory and etiquette that works in any part of the world. This can only enhance your day-to-day business administration, as well as your competitiveness in the marketplace.

We started our training and education programmes to support Japanese people, but we have expanded this now and are also supporting local employees.
