Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Wins Awards for CSR and Environmentally Sound Business Practices

Back to News

RAS AL KHAIMAH, 24 March 2015: Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ), a leader in community outreach activities and environmentally sustainable business practices across the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has won an award from the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK) for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Additionally, for the second year in a row, RAK FTZ has won the prestigious Environment Protection & Development Authority (EPDA) award for the Best Environmental Practices in Ras Al Khaimah.

“We are honoured to receive these awards from the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce and the Environment Protection & Development Authority of Ras Al Khaimah,” said Ramy Jallad, Acting CEO, RAK FTZ. “These awards recognise the fact that, at RAK FTZ, we participate in and contribute to the community where we live and work. The awards also recognise the many measures we have taken to minimise the energy and water usage of the more than 8,000 companies that have made us their investment home.”

In addition to these awards, RAK FTZ was honoured recently on the London-based Financial Times’ fDI Magazine’s “Ones to Watch” list for the tax-free, business-friendly incentives and location of its Industrial Park; and by the Embassy of Switzerland in the UAE for outstanding accomplishments in bilateral interests between the UAE and Switzerland.
