Summary Still current at: 20 February 2023 Updated: 17 February 2023 Latest update: Updated information on COVID-19 travel restrictions for travellers entering France from China

Several unions have called for cross-sector strike action and demonstrations across France on Thursday 16 February and Tuesday 7 March. Industrial action may start the evening before a strike day and run until the morning after. Localised or sector-specific strikes could also occur outside these dates. Industrial action may lead to disruption to services. Please check the latest advice with operators before travelling, avoid demonstrations and follow the advice of local authorities.

UK Border Force has announced strike action from Friday 17 February until circa 7am on Monday 20 February, directly targeting inbound travel to the UK from the French ports of Calais, Dunkirk and the Coquelles Channel Tunnel Terminal, as well as to the Port of Dover. All those who are due to travel into these UK ports during the proposed strike action should be prepared to face longer wait times at UK border control in France and check with their operator before they travel.
