You may be able to apply for compensation if you’re a UK resident and have been injured because of a violent crime in another country.

The following countries have compensation schemes open to UK residents:

Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden or Switzerland.

Other countries might have compensation schemes.

For all countries, you should contact the British embassy, high commission or consulate to find out how to apply for compensation.
