Are the Germans welcoming?Hello, I wanted to ask whether you thought the Germans were awkward and difficult towards expats who are starting a business in Germany. All views welcome? Thank you so much. Georgia
Hello,
I wanted to ask whether you thought the Germans were awkward and difficult towards expats who are starting a business in Germany. All views welcome?
Thank you so much.

Re: Are the Germans welcoming? Germany relies on a notary system for setting up a company. Notaries are highly important and will make something that seems relatively easy a lot more complicated.

If you are setting up a Gmbh with one European director then this will be more straightforward. You will also need to be aware that German tax authorities require you to have more than a virtual office facility. In fact, in some areas, they will physically turn up to ask questions about your company to check that you are working there.
A good English speaking German accountant is especially important!

Re: Are the Germans welcoming? You need to be able to communicate with the Germans in their language otherwise you will never really achieve a breakthrough. Further you must learn to do business the German way: full speed ahead
