Hello Which is the best place to open a new office in China? I know that Beijing is the capital but Shanghai is very well know. Any opinions very welcome.

Why restrict yourself to Beijing or Shanghai ?
A lot really depends on what you are trying to achieve and what industry sector you are involved with. The main big cities in China are getting expensive both to live and work. Added to this you have increased costs of employing staff.
At the moment it is well worth considering some of the secondary cities where there is huge growth and development. Not so fashionable but lower set up costs and often there are Government incentives
Setting up an office in China also has other issues - you need to decide what status the office will have. In some cases you will need a significant registered fund in a Chinese Bank
Setting up an office in China is a good way to grow business there but if you are starting by asking Beijing or Shanghai maybe you should have a rethink
