An advanced course instructing delegates in how to complete customs declarations and ensure customs compliance through the online Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) and its replacement, the Customs Declaration Service (CDS).
This course will explain the importance of import and export customs declarations and the completion rules under CHIEF. We will then compare using CHIEF to the changes which will occur with the implementation of the new CDS system.
Designed for those who have prior knowledge of how to complete declarations and previous experience of using CHIEF. If you are new to this area, we would recommend first completing our ‘Customs procedures and documentation’ and/or ‘Step-by-step guidance to completing declarations’ courses.
NOTE: this course does not provide live demonstrations of CHIEF and CDS due to there being multiple software providers which interface with these platforms.
