South African interest rates remain unchanged
The South African Reserve Bank's (Sarb's) monetary policy committee (MPC) has left the key repo rate unchanged on Thursday at 6.5%, with the prime lending rate steady at 10%.

Emergence of shareholders agreements in Russian business The possibility to conclude shareholders agreements in joint-stock companies emerged after enactment of the Federal statute, dated June 3, 2009 No. 115-FZ. The Statute amended another Federal statute: On Joint-stock Companies with article 32.1 that determined the form, the status and restrictions at the conclusion of shareholders agreements.

On December 30, 2008 several important changes were introduced into the Federal Law On limited liability companies which came into force starting from July 1, 2009. The importance of these changes is caused by the necessity of amending the by-laws of all existing limited companies to make them compliant with the new Law. Beginning from July 1, 2009 articles of association and foundation agreements of companies are applied only in the part, which does not contradict the new norms.
