Currency UK established in 2000. Currency UK was set up to save people money on their foreign exchange transactions, by undercutting the awful rates offered by the high street banks.

When we first opened for business people were buying vehicles to order in Europe and taking advantage of the cheaper prices. We focused our attention on this market and were able to offer everyone further savings on the currency. Vehicles in turn led to the overseas property boom which really started to take off in 2002.

Today the company is run from offices in Battersea, South West London and has grown to a staff of ten, with four working full time on the dealing desk. We still offer the personal touch in much the same way as we did at the beginning. The business has grown more complex over the years with a wider range of currency related products on offer; such as forward contracts, where you fix the rate today, pay a deposit and settle the balance anytime up to six months down the road; or our regular payment scheme which people use for smaller amounts such as mortgage and pension transfers. There is no minimum amount you can have transferred.


We value the relationships we have built with small business owners and managers throughout the UK and abroad, and our payments team take pride in the speed by which funds are credited to foreign accounts.
